About the event: The Lovingkindness Sitting Group meets on the second Thursday of each month, in person only, from 7:00–8:00 p.m. CT. The evening begins with a 25‑minute guided lovingkindness (mētta) meditation offered for the well‑being and happiness of ourselves and all beings. After the meditation, the group spends the rest of the hour enjoying relaxed conversation over tea and snacks, building connection and community in a gentle, welcoming way.
If you’ve practiced lovingkindness before, you know how healing, grounding, and heart‑opening it can be. If you’re new to it, you’re warmly invited to come see whether this practice resonates with you. This is a drop‑in offering with a suggested donation of $10, but no registration is required.

This is not my event: it’s a public offering hosted by the center. This post is simply a space for anyone in our group who wants to attend but feels hesitant to go alone. If you’d like a buddy to meet you there, you can coordinate in the comments.

Not a dating space: This group is not for dating or romantic intentions. We want this to be a genuinely safe, respectful space for people to connect around Buddhist practice and community. Because this has been a consistent issue in past groups I've created, I ask everyone to keep romantic intentions at bay so all people feel safe.
