Guided Meditation

About the event: A short talk on a basic, practical Buddhist topic, followed by a guided meditation with explanation. Newcomers are welcome. No previous experience with Buddhism or meditation is required, and questions are always encouraged.
Their regular meditation is the Guru Yoga meditation on the 16th Karmapa, guided in English.

This is not my event — it’s a public meditation offered by the Diamond Way Buddhist Center in South Minneapolis (Phillips/Powderhorn area). This post is simply a space for anyone in our group who wants to attend but feels hesitant to go alone. If you’d like a buddy to meet you there, you can coordinate in the comments.

Weekly Schedule

  • Wednesdays — 7:00 p.m.

Location: Diamond Way Buddhist Center — South Minneapolis (Phillips/Powderhorn area) 3401 Park Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55407

Purpose of this post: To help anyone in our group who wants to attend but prefers not to walk in alone. Feel free to comment if you’d like to meet up with others.

Keeping information current: If you notice any schedule changes or updates from Diamond Way, please let me know so I can keep the listings accurate for everyone.

Attendance: You’re welcome to attend without posting here. If you do mark your interest, it helps me understand whether this Buddhist schedule project is useful to people — but there’s no pressure at all. However, I don't attend all events, but if I see people are signed up and no one else is, I will try to make a point of going. Update: I broke my arm on 2/7/26, which has caused some difficulties so I won't be attending too many events but others are welcome to do so.

Sharing other events: If you know of a free or optional‑donation Buddhist event that isn’t listed and you’d like people to attend with you, feel free to reach out. This space is only for Buddhist events, not for paid programs or general spiritual gatherings.
