Special Friday Morning Hyland Hike at Minnesota Landscape Arboretum

Details

Please join us on Friday morning May 30 for a special hike at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.

We will plan to arrive at the Arboretum by 9 am. We will travel through the Arboretum's display gardens to the beginning of the Three-Mile Walk, starting near the Sensory Garden and continuing through the woodland Wildflower Garden and the Shade Tree Exhibit. We will leave the Three-Mile Walk and take a loop or two around the Tall Grass Prairie and then return to the Three-Mile Walk to visit the Harrison Sculpture Garden and many other plant collections.

At the Rhododendron Garden we will head up to the Farm at the Arb to see the 1920 Red Barn and Tashjian Bee & Pollinator Discovery Center. We will return to the Three-Mile Walk for a short distance, and then cut across the Sphagnum Bog on the boardwalk to the Green Heron Trail and back to the Display Gardens and Oswald Visitor Center. The total of all segments is approximately 5.5 miles.
Bring a bag lunch or you can buy food in the Arboretum dining hall for a lunch among the flowers after the hike.

We will meet at 8:15 am at Hyland Lake Park Reserve in the parking lot outside the Visitor Center to carpool to the Arboretum. Don't be late, the carpool will leave promptly at 8:30. If you miss the carpool, you will need to drive on your own. Riders should pay their carpool driver $4. For those who live near the Arboretum and want to drive there on their own, please indicate that in the comments section.

No dogs, plus ones, or kids.

Once you sign up, a group ticket in the amount of $17 will be purchased for you. You can pay Bev in person at the event or by Zelle. Group tickets will be purchased at 9 am on May 29. Anyone who signs up after 9 am on May 29 will be responsible for purchasing their own ticket ($20 on line; $25 at the gate).
