11th Annual Hike, Food Drive and Lunch at Afton State Park!
Details
Join us for the annual Hike & Food Drive to Support Neighbors in Need on April 25, 2026 at 10 am at Afton State Park!
This year marks our 11th year of collecting food donations for National Stamp Out Hunger to support a local food shelf. We’ll celebrate community, service, and the beauty of spring at Afton State Park on Free Admission Day. A state park permit or pass is NOT required.
The Twin Cities Hiking Club and Social(able) Fitness Hikers are teaming up once again to help those in need. Co-hosts will be JoAnn, Linda and Bev from Twin Cities Hiking Meetup and Cece from Social(able) Fitness!
We will meet in the parking lot of the visitor center at Afton. Upon arrival, please drop your food donations in the trunk of Cece’s bright blue Toyota in the parking lot.
Please plan to arrive at 9:50 for a hike time of 10 am. We will explore the North Loop Trail, enjoying views of the St. Croix River, wooded terrain, and open prairie. Expect a hilly route with great scenery, a moderate pace, and 4–5 miles of hiking.
After the hike, we’ll gather at the Visitor Center for a light lunch and time together. Watch the comment section for how you may contribute to lunch.
