Sunday Afternoon Hike and Brew! Meet at Minnesota River Bottoms!

Please join us on Sunday, April 19, 2026 in Bloomington for a fun hike along and near the Minnesota River. We'll head west along the river to the rope ferry, cross over to Nine Mile Creek and return to Lyndale Avenue. See how many eagles you can spot along the river!

Please arrive by 2:50 pm. We will start hiking at 3:00 pm. We do not wait for latecomers. It will be a great afternoon of hiking and drinking beer! What better way to spend a winter Sunday afternoon!

This will be a moderately paced hike (approx. 16.5 to 18 minute miles). We will hike a route approximately 5.3 miles in length, depending on the weather, trail conditions and the decision of the leaders. There will be an option for a 4 mile hike. The route will be on grass, dirt and mulch-covered trails. The trail could be muddy due to recent rain.

After the hike, we will drink beer at Nine Mile Brewing, located at 9555 James Avenue South, Suite 290, in Bloomington. The brewery has great indoor seating for large groups with outdoor seating in warmer weather, and offers a menu of pizza, sandwiches, salads and starters.

No dogs, kids or plus ones.

We will hike in light rain, but not a thunderstorm . If it looks like bad weather, we’ll cancel the hike by 12:00 noon.

We like to start on time. There is no portable bathroom at this location. No potable water.

If your plans have changed and you are unable to attend, please update your RSVP in a timely manner so we are not waiting for you at the start and to allow those on the waitlist to attend.
