Afton State Park-Trout Brook Loop and Prairie Hike

Please join me for a 5-7 mile hike at Afton State Park.
We will begin from the 50th St. S. entrance. This is a smaller parking lot. I'd recommend car pooling if possible. We'll head out on the prairie and down to the Trout Brook Loop, back on the prairie and to more woodlands.
We'll hike for about 2.5 hours. If you haven't been to this park before, Afton is hilly. Be prepared to encounter a few steep ones.
We will wait approximately 5 minutes for latecomers.

Optional: After the hike please join us for lunch/brunch at The Current in Afton.

Bring plenty of water, a snack, sunscreen and bug spray.
Expect to hike approximately 6 miles at a moderate pace (18-20 minute mile). We will stop for scenic views and snacks along the way.

Facilities: There is a nice vault toilet along the way. There is water available in the backpacker campground, but I think it's best to bring what you need.

No dogs, , +1's or children allowed on the hike. Only Twin Cities Hiking Meetup members who agree to these guidelines and expectations.
