Explore & Hike Battle Creek

Join me for a fun & challenging adventure hiking the southern section of Battle Creek Park starting at the Recreation Center, 75 Winthrop Street, Saint Paul.
We will begin on a few of the well-developed classic ski hill trails, cross Battle Creek Road to an undeveloped section of prairie, take single-track trails down the bluff and onto the paved trail along Battle Creek to the historical park entrance at Point Douglas Road. We will venture out on one of - if not the only - remaining sections of US Hwy 61 (first laid in the 1920s at the start of the national highway system), hike some old challenging hill and ridge trails then make our way back to the rec center. There will be opportunities for input on which trails to take just to keep it interesting.
This will be a challenging hike due to the many hills and some rough trail conditions. Expect to be out up to two hours and to hike about five+ miles.
