Murphy-Hanrehan Park Hike, Monday Mornings, Two Options
Details
New Meetup Location - Horse trailer parking lot
Come ready for a brisk-paced hike (approx. 16-16.5 minutes/mile) in the Murphy-Hanrahan Park Reserve in Savage. We will be pausing occasionally to allow slower hikers to catch up at trail intersections, but if you're too slow, you need to find a different hike. This area is in the north of Murphy-Hanrahan. We will hike a route 4-6 miles in length, depending on the condition of the trails, and the weather. This hike is also flexible and can be shortened for people who have to leave early or want to hike less (We can separate into two groups at a certain intersection). I will have maps to show a shorter route and possibly have a leader who can take those people on the shorter route.
We will hike in light snow, but if conditions look too bad, I'll cancel the hike about 1-1/2 hours before. Be sure to come with grippers for your boots/shoes, as the trail can be icy.
Meet in the Horse Trailer Parking Lot (pin location shown). For these winter hikes, we will be meeting here and NOT the MTB trailhead parking lot. Note: that this is a change from the summer hikes. This parking lot is more prone to break-ins, so be sure to not leave valuables in your car. There are restroom facilities available. Note, that this is a new meeting location compared to the last several months. We will start on time if everyone is there, but will wait five minutes past the hour for late comers.
No +1s or pets for this hike. People who don't update their RSVPs for changes or don't show up for the hike can cause others not to come (this can cause others to remain waitlisted). So, please, if your plans have changed and you are unable to attend, update your RSVP in a timely manner so we are not waiting for you at the start and to allow those on the waitlist to attend. If you're on the waitlist, within ~1/2 hour before the hike, do not come. So far, these hikes have not been full, so the waitlist has been a non-issue.
