Hello Everyone! We're excited to announce our next meetup. Improving has graciously offered to host this event. For this meetup, we'll be doing our first Code Kickoff!
The idea behind the Code Kickoff is similar to that of a Hackathon, but instead of having to complete the project within a certain timeframe, instead, the goal is to get a new project off the ground. Ideally, the Code Kickoff will be the beginning of a project, not the end. Another outcome is to create some project that can exist in some marketplace or app store, and be relatively small.
For our theme, we'll be creating GitHub Actions! Feel free to come with your own ideas for a custom GitHub Action, or join a group that's working on an idea! We'll be sharing a brief presentation on GitHub Actions, how they work, and how you can make your own and put it up on the GitHub Marketplace.
One of our core beliefs is to create a collaborative environment, so we welcome individuals of all backgrounds, technical or not, to be a part of the group! We welcome everyone's perspectives.
This meetup will not just be the Code Kickoff. If you want to work on another project related to TCOS, or any project that you want to work on, feel free! We encourage everyone to communicate and share ideas with one another. We also encourage people who want some heads down time to work on a project with others around them to come join us as well! Lastly, if you come just to hang out, grab some food, and play boardgames while talking tech, we'd love to see you!
