Outdoor Climbing and Camping in Winona (Sugar Loaf)

Twin Cities Rock Climbing Meetup is spending the weekend in Winona, MN. Join us for an outdoor camping and sport climbing adventure.
This is a beginner friendly trip. Climbing grades range from 5.3 - 5.11. Top ropes will be set up for the group to climb. No outdoor or lead experience necessary.
No rental equipment available. Participants will need climbing and camping equipment. Please bring and wear a helmet while climbing. If you have questions on the equipment needed, you can message the host for an example equipment list.
Itinerary:
Friday, May 24th:
3pm: Kick off the weekend with some warm up climbing for a couple of hours. Then head to the campground to set up and have some dinner. Then enjoy a night of mingling, laughing, and getting to know your new friends.
Saturday, May 25th:
After breakfast head out to Sugar Loaf and spend the day sport climbing. Maybe stop at the donut shop for a sugar rush? After a fun day of sending, back to the campsite for reminiscing and a much deserved meal.
Sunday, May 26th:
Pack up the site and finish the weekend with a 1/2 day of climbing before heading home.
We have one site reserved at Prairie Island Campground. This is a primitive site so tents only. The site's maximum number of people is 8. To help support future events, the host asks that you donate to help cover the cost of the site. ($57.98 is the total cost for the 2 nights)
