The physical spaces we inhabit, from a room or building to a neighborhood or city has a profound impact on our psychology. This month we'll be listening to podcasts about the psychology of architecture and some of the impacts and possibilities of urban architecture as they have been rapidly changing, particularly since the Coronavirus pandemic. In addressing these changes, how do we balance human needs with economic ones?

As with most things in the world today, this isn't a discussion we can have without talking about sustainability. With the hope of facilitating focused discussions, next month, we'll listen to a few more podcasts, but then focus our discussion more specifically on sustainable architecture.

Please listen to a few of these podcasts (I use Google Podcasts, but they should be available in any podcast app:

The psychology of architecture part I (1hr 6 min) and part II (57 min)

How American cities can avoid the 'urban doom loop' (1hr 11min)

How architecture can drive social change (34min)

Shaping tomorrow's cities: A conversation on hybrid work and urban transformation (26 min)

Johanna Hoffman on the Speculative futures of cities (1hr 13min)

Urban design processes (38 min)

The rise of boring architecture and the case for radically human buildings (16 min)

Please come a little early to make your café purchase(s). I'll have a sign on a table nearby and we can gather tables as needed. The store closes at 9pm, so I'll set an alarm for 8:45 for closing comments.
