7:00 - 8:00 Presentation
8:00 - ?? Networking and Food

Hector Camarena from Databricks will be presenting on the topic of Delta Live Table, and possibly a little bit of Databricks SQL.

Databricks presenting: Delta Live Table (DLT), a cloud service that makes reliable ETL – extract, transform and load capabilities – easy on Delta Lake. It helps data engineering teams simplify ETL development with a simple UI and declarative tooling, improve data reliability through defined data quality rules and bad data monitoring, and scale operations with deep visibility through an event log.

Hector is a Sr. Solutions Architect at Databricks where he helps support 20+ enterprise accounts and is an active member of the Streaming SME group. He started his career as a software/data engineer at Target Corporation, where at the time he got a chance to work on one of the largest Hadoop clusters (1000+ nodes) in the U.S. He helped develop near-real-time streaming applications processing clickstream data for Target.com and fraud detection data for the security team. He then went on to pursue an opportunity as a Senior/Lead Data Engineer at a Big Data consulting firm called phData. There he developed both batch and streaming applications using Spark/Scala. Hector is also an MSSE Alumni from the UMN!
