Bio:
Chief Technologist of real-time data for Object Partners Inc. (OPI), a Minneapolis based consulting firm known for it's outstanding talent and ability to get things done. He has been consulting with them for the last 9 years crafting solutions for businesses, large to small. For the last few years he has been focused on real-time data systems.

The importance of Data Managements as part of Using Kafka

Abstract:
John Holland will take you through the importance of data management as part of using Kafka and related systems when building out a data platform. From past experiences he'll demonstrate what happens when it's not included in your design and some ways to avoid those painful places using tools such as Confluent's schema registry, Apache Avro and Apache Atlas.

Bio:
Cliff Gilmore is a Sr. Solutions Engineer here at Confluent covering the Central Region. He has deep experience in data architecture across a broad range of technologies over the last 10 years. Cliff has worn many hats from running a consulting practice specializing in modern data architectures to helping hundreds of customers successfully deploy opensource solutions from the earliest stages to tuning production systems at scale.

Concepts, Architecture and Benefits of KSQL

Abstract:
The rapidly expanding world of stream processing can be daunting. KSQL is an open-source, Apache 2.0 licensed streaming SQL engine on top of Apache Kafka which aims to make stream processing available to everyone. This session introduces the concepts, architecture use cases and benefits of KSQL. A live demo shows how to setup and use KSQL quickly and easily on top of your Kafka ecosystem.
