This is a group dedicated to anyone interested in Typewriters. Portable Typewriters, Office Typewriters, Manual, Electric, and Electronic Typewriters. Vintage, or current technology. If you agree that the typewriter is an incredible, useful mechanical marvel this group is for you.
The meetings will be what is often referred to as "Type-In's". We encourage you to bring your typewriter, or typewriters, to the meetings and if you like, give a short presentation of the typewriter and its capabilities. You can tell the group where you obtained it, how you use it, and explain any of its unique features.
There are several groups on YouTube of typewriter enthusiasts. You can see the fun of discovery these groups have at "Type-In's". This will be a local group that is similar to those on YouTube. This group will be of particular interest to typewriter collectors, writers, novelists, poets and typists.
The Typewriter is a tactile writing instrument that has been all but forgotten until the recent resurgence typewriter collecting. This group can be a great resource for finding shops that repair your particular typewriter. It can help you find supplies such as changeable typestyles, ribbons, etc. It is designed to be a resource of information for all things pertaining to typewriters and even word processors.
This group will meet periodically for "Type-In's" and discuss all things pertaining to typewriters.
