Jean Chisholm & Janine Merkl – The Hometown Project

The Hometown Project (http://hometownproject.ca/#the-hometown-project) aims to get people aware of the possibilities in their hometowns, and helps projects happen from the ground up. Started by Jean Chisholm (http://www.jeanchisholm.com/) and Janine Merkl (http://janinemerkl.com/) in 2014, they have grown the project around their hometowns of Prince George and Medicine Hat, even designing typefaces based on the lettering in their cities.

Beau House & Alex Nelson – Post Projects

Post Projects (http://post-projects.com/) is a Vancouver based design studio working for local and international clients across a diverse range of platforms and disciplines. Their work for Brassneck, Revolver, Western Front, and others has been extremely well-received by the Vancouver community. Partners Alex Nelson (https://twitter.com/alexnelson) and Beau House (https://twitter.com/beauhouse) will speak about the role of typography in their projects.

About Type Brigade

Type Brigade is Vancouver’s typography and type design speaker series. Every other month, we host talks with local designers, developers, artists, and type enthusiasts in the city. We also arrange special events and workshops with type designers and letterers from all over the world, including Martin Jackson, Lost Type, Commercial Type, and more.
