Type Brigade is Vancouver’s type speaker series. We’re back from our summer break in spectacular form: Roxane Gataud from Paris, France will present on September 1st!
• Doors: 6:30PM
• Talks begin: 7:00PM
• No admittance during talks
Roxane Gataud (http://www.roxanegataud.com/) is a type designer based in Paris, France. Her typeface Bely (http://www.type-together.com/Bely) was the first chosen to be part of the TypeTogether Incentive Program in 2014. Since then, among other impressive achievements, she has gone onto work with Typofonderie, Production Type, and TypeFactory in her home country of France, released the full version of Bely with TypeTogether earlier this year. At the end of August, she will be presented the SOTA Catalyst Award (http://www.typecon.com/archives/4975), for significant contributions to type design by someone under 25 years of age.
We are incredibly excited to have Roxane present on her work here at Type Brigade in Vancouver—RSVP to see her first ever presentation in Canada.
About Type Brigade
Type Brigade is Vancouver’s typography and type design speaker series. Every other month, we host talks with local designers, developers, artists, and type enthusiasts in the city. We also arrange special events and workshops with type designers and letterers from all over the world, including Martin Jackson, Lost Type, Commercial Type, and more.
We signify each Type Brigade with a new set of custom numerals which will be revealed soon!
This edition of Type Brigade is sponsored by CodeCore (https://codecore.ca/) and MetaLab (http://metalab.co/)!
MetaLab (http://metalab.co) makes interfaces. They are currently hiring for multiple different design positions in Vancouver or Victoria.
CodeCore (http://codecore.ca) are kindly letting us use their headquarters for the event! Their next code bootcamp session opens on September 19th.
Thanks to both MetaLab and CodeCore for returning to sponsor Type Brigade and helping to grow the design community here in Vancouver.
