Type Brigade is Vancouver’s typography speaker series. On September 5, we’re very excited to welcome Phoebe Glasfurd and Tom Froese!

Phoebe Glasfurd

Phoebe Glasfurd is the co-founder and Creative Director of Glasfurd & Walker, a creative studio specialising in ideation, graphic design and artistic direction. Phoebe started her award-winning career in Sydney, focusing on print and broadcast design and branding for clients across Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the US.

In 2007, Phoebe moved to Canada, establishing Glasfurd & Walker in Vancouver, BC. Their work will be very familiar to Type Brigade attendees: Bao Bei, Ask for Luigi, The Juice Truck, Meat & Break, Right or Shine—to name a few. We’re very excited to welcome Phoebe Glasfurd to Type Brigade to speak about her work.

Tom Froese

Tom Froese is a commercial artist. His work can be seen in numerous publications including Monocle, Harvard Business Review, and GQ France. Tom will speak about his work, how type and lettering factors into his illustrations, and his specialty: Canadiana and Canadian design.

About Type Brigade

Type Brigade (http://typebrigade.com) is Vancouver’s typography and type design speaker series. Every other month, we host talks with local designers, developers, artists, and type enthusiasts in the city. We also arrange special events and workshops with type designers and letterers from all over the world, including Martin Jackson, Roxane Gataud, Lost Type, Commercial Type, and more.
