Traveling from Java to Haskell
If you’re to travel from the homeland of Java to the terra incognita of Haskell you’ll need a map. It’s a far land, and you’ll feel lost a number of times. There is a shortcut that passes Scala by and takes you straight there, but you’ll need to be cautious! You’ll encounter things that will be unfamiliar and hard to relate to what you have known so far.
With the map provided in this talk you will be able to translate the ways you “think in Java” to concepts used in Haskell, entirely by code examples.
This talk is dedicated to Java developers and Haskell newbies.
Eryk Ciepiela, Software Engineer/Architect
Beside the main talk, we want to introduce you to our idea of participation in some open source Haskell projects.
Also, we would like to present briefly the product of of our hosts – Buddy (https://buddy.works/). It's an awesome general purpose CI system we are planning to use in our projects.
The location will be the office of Buddy – Józefińska 2, the other side of Kładka Bernatka than last time.
The number of spots is limited to 30! But no worries, if there is a need we will repeat the event soon. Let us know in comments.
