A Client Interface in Julia - TypeDBClient.jl

Details
Just under 10 months ago, Frank, Mark and their furiously passionate group of Julia Language community members set out to create a client driver for TypeDB, in Julia. Their mission: expand the database capabilities in the Julia ecosystem.
In this talk, they will walk through:
- Team building and organization
- Researching technical options and requirements
- Work on dependencies
- Updates to the development (hint: official release is coming very soon)
The team is also welcoming rising Julia talents and professionals to join the project and learn about the widely used protocols like gRPC or HTTP/2 and how to approach them in Julia.
The team coming together to build TypeDBClient.jl wants to see TypeDB available for all applications written in Julia.
Speakers:
Mark Schulze
Mark is here representing the Julia Language community and the team members that work on the TypeDB Client, all coming from diverse skill sets, profound knowledge of the language, and long-standing industry and research experience. One remarkable publication is the "Hands-On Design Patterns and Best Practices with Julia" by Tom Kwong, 2020 Packt.
Frank Urbach
Frank Urbach is from Overath near Cologne. He has a diploma in material science and technology, and worked for the past 23 years in the foundry industry in several roles. This included a time managing an ERP system and the whole infrastructure behind it.
Since his early years in college, he was interested in programming to solve problems in his domain. He went through more than one programming language, which ended last year with the Julia language. It's a functional dynamic language with the ability to run as fast as C or C++ without changing the source to reach this goal.
During this time, he discovered the Julia language and stumbled across TypeDB. He finds it a very interesting technology to discover hidden contexts.
