💥 Fika.JS Meetup #3: Deterministic Rendering / Advanced types with TypeScript

Details

A'hoy fika people!

Hope you're ready for yet another meetup. The 5th of June we, together with Vimla and 0+X, will arrange the last FikaJS for this spring. But fear not! We'll be back after summer with more meetups and other cool events.

The meetup will be hosted by Vimla at the Telenor office at Garvis Carlssons Gata 3, just 15 minutes from T-Centralen by blue line. The doors will open 17:30 and first talk will start 18:30. As always, there will be plenty of food and drinks and after the talks we'll have an awesome after party :tada:

Oh and this time we continue the tradition of Blink Talks 👁️. Those are 2-3 minute talks, meant to lower the barrier for the new speakers.

We hope that you're as excited as we are!

Thanks a bunch to our awesome sponsors for making this possible:

## "Deterministic Rendering, Motion, and the future of Styling" by Fernando Vía Canel

React Native just incorporated Windows as a platform, and CSS is headings towards the Houdini milestone. The infrastructure giving support to styling in the web platform and its cousins (React Native) is going through a qualitative transformation. To try to manage all this complexity, we strive to find an approach that allows us to treat all the target platforms in the same way, but there are many challenges to that goal.

In this talk I present the outcome of several years of tinkering with the idea in theory and in practice, my belief for what the new direction of styling is, and a justification of why I believe this trend is materializing, in particular considering React Native styling and CSS Houdini.

See you there!
