A long table set up at Fortune Teller with vintage manual typewriters for you to use. Sit down, type something, take your pages with you. There are short prompts available if you want one.

Manual typewriters do something to how you write. You can't delete, you can't toggle to another tab. The keys require a little more pressure than you're used to, and the sound of a group full of people typing is its own kind of music. What shows up on the page is always a little different from what you'd have written on a laptop.

Stay for twenty minutes or stay for the whole three hours.
No experience needed. The typewriters do most of the work.

Free. Walk-ups welcome — RSVP to make sure you have a seat.

Food and drinks available from Fortune Teller and food trucks.

Hosted by Austin author Stephen Lloyd Webber.

Follow the calendar at lu.ma/typewriter for more upcoming events.
