What we’re about
We meet approximately weekly to discuss philosophy topics and other interesting questions in a Café Philosophique or Socrates Cafe style. Participants propose questions. We vote on the questions and discuss the questions with the most votes. An academic background in philosophy is not required - only a desire to explore ideas in a friendly environment.
A primary goal of the U District Philosophy Cafe is to be inclusive to the largest number of participants, with the most varied and diverse backgrounds possible. As such, we are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ability, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and religion (or lack thereof).
