A free & public Astrophotography workshop and planetary observation event, Friday, October 25, 2019 from 7:00 -10:00 pm

While Milky Way season is close to it’s end this year, and temperature is dripping down, it is time to have some astro fun. If you are a want to learn astrophotography or already an astrophotographer in any level, hobbyist, Milky Way chaser or an expert with full setup, we invite you to join us in a wonderful night away from city lights to enjoy photographing and observing the majestic Milky Way, as well as our neighbor planets and their moons.

Event 3 Stages Agenda:

• 7:00- 7:30 pm: Introduction about Milky Way photography with DLSR / Mirrorless camera with lens and tripod, camera settings and best practices.

• 7:30 - 9:00 pm: We start a photography session where you will start taking your photos armed with the knowledge provided in the introduction, we will be available for further help. This period will also include planetary observation using telescopes on the spot.

• 9:00 - 10:00 pm: At this point, observation will be closed. We will talk about astrophotography with DSLR / mirrorless camera on a tracker, introduction to deep space astrophotography, selecting the right equipment, telescope and mount setup.

• Time: 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

• The location is accessible by sedan cars, 4x4 is not required

Recommended gear:
• Camera: DSLR or Mirrorless
• Fully charged batteries
• Empty memory card
• lens: Widest Lens you have (14mm f2.8 best)
• Sturdy tripod
• Remote Trigger or Intervalometer.
• Spare batteries, SD cards.

Other recommendations:
• Plenty of water, food or snacks, please make sure you don’t litter.
• Mobile with full charge, power-banks if you have
• Protective footwear, scarf or headgear for sandstorm protection
• Garbage bag

A bus transportation from & to Dubai is provided by Nikon school.
Gathering time for bus is 2:30 pm at the parking-lot near The Kindergarten Starters, 2nd Street, Garhoud, Dubai ( https://goo.gl/maps/1Txenq5r19PtSWN86 ). The bus will start it’s trip towards the event location at 3:00 pm sharp, make sure to be there on time. it arrive to the event location around 6:00pm. Returning bus will head back to Dubai at 10:00 pm. It is expected reach back to Dubai initial location by 12:30pm Bus seats are limited, please make sure to book in advance.
