Skywatcher's Guide to the Galaxy

For all who are fond of the night sky, this is your night!

The milky way season is here! Join us on a night of wonder, to gaze at the milky way core with your naked eye, get some professional help to take some amazing milky way shots, along side all night telescope observations. This gathering is suitable for all ages.

The moon sets before the sun so will not inhibit the dark sky, the milky way will be high enough around 11pm. however, we will start with telescope observations right after sunset to look at Jupiter and Venus which are in a conjunction, followed by other celestial wonders, making it a night to remember.

Don't forget to bring your camera, fastest wide lens and tripod, we will help you take some awesome shots :).

Here are some very important tips to ensure you are well prepared:

1. Make sure your car is full of petrol, and yes you do need a car, 4x4 is not required.
2. Bring your favorite snacks and drinks, and make sure you stay hydrated. You are all, however, required to leave the location as clean as it was when you arrived-the only thing that should be left behind is foot prints. Bring a trash bag with you, and ensure to gather all your trash, keep it with you and dispose of it upon reaching the next petrol station. Littering will not be tolerated.
3. Don't forget to bring a chair to sit.
4. Alcohol is strictly prohibited.
5. There are no bathroom facilities, so plan accordingly.
6. Your kids, your stuff, your car and your trash are your own responsibility, so let's all act responsibly.
7. You are free to leave at any time, however, please be careful on your way in & out.
8. Beware of camels, insects, sand piles on the road, potential visibility issues, speed bumps and radar cameras.
