Khasab Camping Trip (7-9 April )

The Musandam, separated from the rest of Oman by the United Arab Emirates, is the northernmost part of the Sultanate.

Due to its geographical position and mountainous terrain it was isolated from the rest of Oman and the region developed at its own pace. Graded roads cut across the mountains have now made it more accessible. The grandeur of Musandam can best be explored by sea.

Musandam Peninsula has an abundance of sheltered fjords, some only connected to the mainland by narrow cliffs. Fjords, or khors, created by fragmented rock stretching claw-like into the sea and massive overshadowing cliffs towering above are magnificently reflected in the water below.

Activities:

Long drive (2.5 hrs. from Dubai), mountain/ seaside roads, beaches, off-road, walking trek/ swimming/ snorkeling, campfire, barbecue .

Vehicle: 4x4 preferred, however sedans can also reach.

Cost: 175 AED Per Person (will be collected in cash at meeting point)

Things to carry:

Camping gear (tent/ sleeping bag/ chairs/ mat/ light/ torch, etc.), some warm clothing (in layers), trekking shoes, hat, sunblock cream, swimming costume/ life-jacket/ floating tube/ snorkel kit (as needed), camera, food and water for yourself and little extra to share.

Every Car should carry 2 bundles of firewood and one bag Charcoal & BBQ Grill.

Visa Costs (85 AED = 50 AED Entry + 35 AED Exit from Oman)

Important:

If anyone wants to leave earlier than the timing mentioned, he/she has to pay at his own cost the boat trip back to the port.

UAE residents generally get visa on arrival at the Oman border, subject to the following:

Valid UAE residence visa (professional category). We strongly request you to refer to Royal Oman Police website for latest info:

Passport Validity needed: 3 months
Oman car insurance (can be bought at border)
Car Registeration (if you are driving)
UAE Residence Visa
UAE Currency is accepted in Oman
Payment is received upfront (at the meeting point)
