Our speakers

Rob Mariet is a seasoned product designer with a wealth of experience and currently working at Google on Google Assistant. Originally from the Netherlands, his career journey has taken him across the globe. His talk on “Lessons learned as a pragmatic designer” will share his experience leading design across various domains from emerging markets, driving experiences, autonomous cars, fintech, product development tools, and digital assistants.

Sophie Back is the design manager at Uber for Payments, Risk and Identity. Her experience spans consulting, agencies, tech and start-ups, including running her own start up in Australia. She is passionate about creating great teams to make products that customers love.
Together with her team, she crafts experiences for Payments, Risk and Identity across all of Uber’s apps. Sophie champions creating simple user experiences in an increasingly complex and ever changing global payments landscape.
