Cadence is an open source workflow orchestration engine built at Uber and used by other major companies. It addresses various challenges around building and operating complex distributed products, ensuring their durability, availability, and scalability. It provides maximum flexibility to developers by allowing them to program their workflows with native programming languages. Over 1000 use cases at Uber were built on top of Cadence. Talk 1: Helm Charts with Shijie Sheng
Deploy Cadence on Kubernetes in minutes! The Cadence team has officially taken ownership of community-built Helm charts, streamlining deployment for everyone. Join us for a live demo where we’ll show you how to provision and launch your own Cadence instance on Kubernetes.
Talk 2: Matching Availability & Efficiency Revamp with Nathanael Mortensen & Felipe Imanishi
One of Cadence’s core services, Matching, is responsible for task dispatching to workers. Matching was significantly re-architected, improving its efficiency (max throughput, load balancing, etc.), reliability, and latency. Join us to go over those changes and learn how you can get more from Cadence.
Talk 3: Roadmap & Community with Ender Demirkaya
In early 2025, Cadence released a more open governance model and contribution/partnership opportunities. We’ll briefly go over those changes, explaining what they mean for the community. We’ll also talk about our 2025 Roadmap and upcoming features.
