UCB Cloud Meetup 038: Berkeley's own computing infrastructure & cloud strategy

Details
This month features a fireside chat covering Berkeley's overall infrastructure and cloud strategies. We will discuss the drivers behind Berkeley's infrastructure choices, which include a mix of the normal-- along with some unique, highly specialized computational needs typical of a highly competitive research university. We will delve into Berkeley's current infrastructure strategy initiative and how it aims to meet the University's challenges.
Our discussion will begin with some framing remarks by UC Berkeley CIO and Associate Vice Chancellor for IT, Jenn Stringer on the importance of our evolving strategy. We will then take up a fireside chat format welcoming of audience participation, moderated by Research IT Consulting+Outreach Lead Amy Neeser with UC Berkeley CTO Bill Allison, Director of Data & Platform Services Walter Stokes and Cloud Team Lead Robert Amos.
Everyone is welcome - this is a really inclusive group! Even when the talks seem very technical you don't have to be an expert, or already know about cloud technologies; we get together so people can learn from each other.
