Data Vault modelling must always start from the business entities - this is the rule we're being taught. However, the single biggest problem with most Data Vault failures is still the fact that the model is NOT based on the real business, but the source system structures. What is so difficult here, and what can we do better? In this presentation, we will discuss using conceptual modelling as the starting point of Data Vault work - what it really means, why it is a must-have, and how it fits in with the rest of the process.
