Technological change happens more frequently and is more disruptive than changes in business models – if changes in business models occur, you have to re-think everything, the technology stack included. Put that in the context of Data Warehousing: Oracle has recently released version 21 and Snowflake is a 'database as a service', changing your Data Warehouse implementation reality to 'as a service'. Not to mention the ever-growing and changing data sources and formats, or data consumption applications.

Apart from the reality of change in your Data Warehouse technology landscape, Petr believes that the business data model is not only more constant over time but should be the foundation for your Data Vault driven data warehouse automation. It provides a clear understanding of the organisation's operations and how data is used to support them.

In this Data Vault User Group meeting Petr Beles will address:

  • The complexity of Data Warehouse projects
  • The problem of Data Warehouse implementations: maintainability
  • Insights of approaching complexity and maintainability:
    - Benefits and advantages of Business Model driven Data Warehouse automation approaches
    - How to automate a Data Vault Data Warehouse and reduce complexity
    - How standardization can help to achieve
  • An agile development approach that enhances collaboration across teams and departments incl. CI/CD data pipelines
  • Minimise time to insights
  • Make Data Warehouses maintainable over time
