Why you need a Data Vault for your Data Vault
Details
A Data Vault is a store of organisational knowledge, not only by virtue of the data held within the vault, but also by the structure of the Data Vault itself. As data modellers, we represent this knowledge as best we can with smart keys for object names and standardised relationships between the objects, but these are shallow channels and much of the information we use to build the vault is never captured. As a Data Vault grows, we are further challenged to track not only organisational knowledge, but also knowledge of the Data Vault itself.
This knowledge and metadata can be captured and leveraged by adding a MetaVault layer to the Data Vault.
