What we’re about

Welcome to the Ukiah Salon which will be held in Potter Valley, where art, literature, politics, and passion collide in lively discussions and thought-provoking meetings. This group is open to anyone who is interested in these topics and who wants to engage in meaningful conversations about art, literature, politics and social events with other like-minded individuals who can engage in a respectful manner. There is a book club component where we will read a book each month (usually classical literature and existential philosophy), movie nights, theme dinner parties, and Scrabble--not all at the same time. You may be interested in some events but not others. Some of the books my book club read while I was doing this Salon in Petaluma are: Ulysses by James Joyce, The Plague by Camus, Kant, Proust, The Origins of Totalitarianism by Hannah Arendt, Catch 22, Virginia Woolf, Middlemarch by George Elliot, to name just a few to give you can examples of the range. Open to intellectually curious people who also have a sense of humor and don't take themselves too seriously, despite the descriptions. Different events will be listed each month.
