Mafia Games & Social - London Waterloo!
Details
Welcome to Mafia Games (and Social) London Waterloo!
Come and play a few games of Mafia, meet new people and have a fun evening with us! If you’ve never played before, you are very welcome. We’ll teach you when you arrive, and you’ll soon get into it :)
📍 Where? The Hercules, 2 Kennington Rd, Lambeth, London SE1 7BL — Carousel Room (Second Floor) or the Snug Room
🕕 When? We meet at 18:00.
Coming on your own?
You are very welcome! This is a social event as much as a games evening. You’ll meet people around the table, and between games there’s time to chat, get to know each other and discuss who you probably shouldn’t have trusted…
Bring a friend or come and make some here!
Do I need to know anything beforehand?
Just come along! This is a casual, beginner-friendly event, and many of you will be playing with us for the first time. We’ll explain the rules and help you through your first game.
You’ll get to play several games, so there’s plenty of time to learn, try things and surprise yourself. Most importantly, this is a social activity, so feel free to talk to anyone between the games and have fun!
What is Mafia?
Have you seen The Traitors? Come and play the game it’s based on!
Mafia is a 10-player social game of secret roles, deduction and deciding who to trust. The Mafia know who their teammates are and try to hide among the Citizens. The Citizens have to work out who the Mafia are… while the Mafia try to look very helpful :)
Each game lasts around 45 minutes, and we play at multiple tables. It can get competitive, but it’s easy to learn, and every new game gives you a fresh role, a fresh start and another chance to figure everyone out!

How do we play?
We’ll teach you at the venue, but here’s the idea:
🌙 Night
- The Mafia secretly choose a player to eliminate.
- The Don, who is on the Mafia team, checks whether a player is the Sheriff.
- The Sheriff, who is on the Citizens’ team, checks whether a player is Mafia.
☀️ Day
- Each player gets a turn to speak: share your suspicions, defend someone, ask people to trust you… whether they should is another question!
- Everyone then votes publicly to eliminate a player.
The Citizens win by finding and eliminating all the Mafia. The Mafia win when they equal or outnumber the Citizens.
You’ll pick it up as we play. Questions are always welcome!
If you’d like a look beforehand, we have brochures, videos and other useful resources here: Mafia tips and resources.
