Hey all,
I thought to plan a morning to Kayak or paddleboard to enjoy the Back Bay of Newport Beach! It's an amazing place with calm waters, plenty of jumping fish and stingrays about! You can rent a kayak if you don't have one or want to bring one. It will be fun with our group.
For kayaking, the water is calm, serene, and even leaping fish are seen at times. We have seen turtles, Blue herons, and stingrays swimming below our feet. The Back bay is a protected wildlife area and many types of birds and other wildlife can be seen. Also, it is easy to kayak or paddleboard to other great views in the canals and all of Newport if you desire. Rates for kayaks are around $15/ hour at Southwind. SUP around $20 but you can bring your own board or Kayak and we can paddle on together! Parking is just under the bridge at PCH and Bayside drive.

-Look for the "Southwind Kayak" sign on Bayside Drive across the street from the Chevron station
-Turn left into the parking lot after this sign.
-Drive all the way to the end of the lot and park under the bridge
We offer a 10% Military Discount with appropriate ID.
Our current hours are:
SAT-SUN 9-5pm.
Last rentals go out at 4pm.
Cash and all major credit cards accepted!
Reservations accepted except on Memorial Day Weekend, July 4th Weekend and Labor Day Weekend.
