Park Permits -- PLEASE READ!!

Good news!

I just got a call out of the blue from the nice folks at the Prospect Park permits office. I had submitted an application a few months back but didn't hear anything, so I thought it was a lost cause. But, we are in luck!

Here's the deal:

They offered us a permit for the Parade Grounds section of Prospect Park for the remainder of the spring season, which would be June 1 - 29 (5 Sundays). The permit would be from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

The Parade Grounds are on the south side of Prospect Park, near the intersection of Argyle Rd and Caton Ave. We would have Field #4, which is grass and about the size of a normal soccer field. For maps, click on this link: http://ultimatefrisbee.meetup.com/153/photos/?photoAlbumId=359313&photoId=4183889.

The cost for the permit for the 5 Sundays would be $100.

However, we would have to submit another application for the summer season (beginning in July) and there is no guarantee we'd get the same place again.

Obviously, the advantage of doing this is that we would be assured a nice place to play each week and not have to fuss with finding space, dodging Little Leaguers, etc. On the other hand, maybe people feel like we're fine where we are and we don't need a permit...

So.... please respond ASAP (directly to me, not to the whole group) and let me know your thoughts on these two questions:

1) Do you think we should go for it and get the permit?
2) Would you be willing to pay $1 per game to help pay for it?

One other thing -- I am leaving for 2 weeks' vacation on Wednesday. So if we do this, someone will have to help me out. If you have a little time and would be willing to go to the Prospect Park offices in the next couple of days to pay for the permit, please let me know. The frisbee gods will shine down on you!

Thanks,
Beth
