Calling all Umbraco fans! Our October meetup is here! And this month we have 2 awesome talks lined up covering topics from Umbraco migrations to Azure search! 🚀

19:00 - Talk 1: "Umbracademia - writing an MSc. Computing dissertation about Umbraco 10" by Richard Jackson

• On Friday 13th October (yes, really) I’ll be submitting my MSc. Computing dissertation, which, pending me finishing on time, should detail my workplace project “Migration of Nightingale HQ’s website from Hugo to Umbraco CMS”. Carried out for my employer Nightingale HQ over twelve weeks, this dissertation involves a complete site migration from one tech stack to another.
• This talk will be about my dissertation project, and my first piece of Umbraco-based academia.

19:30 - Talk 2: "Integrating Azure Search with Umbraco!" by Adam Smith (Technical Architect @ Method4) and Owain Jones (3x Umbraco MVP & Umbraco Specialist @ Method4)

• Adam and Owain will be giving us a demo of the upcoming SearchIn package for Umbraco, which will integrate Azure Cognitive Search into the Umbraco back-office, allowing you to create and manage your Azure Indexes, search queries, search forms, and views directly from a custom back-office dashboard; to quickly and easily build search pages for your site!

Venue
The meetup will be hosted at Method4 Ltd, Trade Street, Cardiff, CF10 5DT, which is a less than 5-minute walk from Cardiff Central train station.

Parking options

• There is on-street pay & display (free after 6pm) parking at Trade Street, although spaces can be limited.
• Cardiff Central Train Station car park ~ less than a 2-minute walk.
• John Lewis Car Park ~ 8-minute walk.
• St David's / Dewi Sant car park ~ 12-minute walk.
