umBristol

Hello Umbracians,
umBristol is the Bristol meet-up for people who work with Umbraco CMS. New members always welcome, whether you're a developer, editor, or just Umbraco-curious, we'd love to have you along.

We continue our Umbraco Bristol events with two hands-on talks, hosted by the team at true at Generator Building in central Bristol, with the usual food and drink provided for the evening for you to enjoy.

Please note: This is a free event. You do not need Meetup Pro to attend. Please ignore any upsells when registering.

The talks for the evening will be:

• "Great platforms aren't enough: Lessons from a 5 year transformation journey" by Saskia Jury
What do you do when your first attempt doesn't work and your customer loses faith? I want to explore the reality behind digital transformation: setbacks, stakeholder turnover, changing priorities and the challenge of maintaining momentum over years rather than months.
My talk will share how persistence, continuous improvement and a relentless focus on outcomes transformed a stalled initiative into one of the most successful client migrations we've delivered. I hope to provide lessons that every transformation team can take away about expectation management, platform maturity and earning the right to scale.
• "A client’s guide to Umbraco for enterprise organisations" by Rich McCloskey
As Umbracians it can feel like the obvious choice to ‘choose Umbraco’ - but we have to recognise that for enterprise organisations the decision making process is complex and varied. We will take you through the process we went through with our client Hunter Douglas to understand how Umbraco was the right choice for them, how the tools they use such as Umbraco Cloud, Commerce has enabled their ambition over the last year since launch, supports their scale and where they plan to go next.
