Umstead History & Adventure Hike

This 4.5-5-mile hike will visit some of the historic sites around the Company Mill, Crabtree Creek, the old Mill Road and Old Middle Hillsborough Road. Much of the hike will be off-trail. Expect to be climbing over downed trees, crossing ditches and small streams, and traversing hillsides, and so please wear sturdy shoes that you don't mind getting muddy and dress adequately for the weather conditions, etc. The hike will occur rain, snow or shine (unless the forecast is so bad that safety would be threatened). Also, bring water and snacks.

Please show up no later than 8:05/10 am, as we plan to start promptly at 8:15. Estimated duration will be about 3 hrs, depending on how much discussion and exploration there is around the sites.
