We’re grateful to Kevin Potter, Research Ecologist with the U.S. Forest Service, for returning to lead this approximately 2-mile hike.

We'll take a hike on the Loblolly Trail to identify some common and not-so-common trees in Umstead State Park. Along the way, we'll talk about tips to help you identify trees on your own.

Wear sturdy shoes that you don't mind getting muddy. Dress adequately for the weather conditions. Bring drinking water and a snack (if desired).

The hike will be held unless inclement weather prevents us from having a safe hike. In that case, we will notify you of our change of plans. Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you on the 22nd.
