Lake Crabtree Trails Last(?) Group Ride, Run, Walk

Details
Important Update! Thanks to the folks that have spoke at the last 2 Wake County Commissioners meetings, and the many letters (keep them coming!) we are getting a 'signal' that the Commissioners are being 'moved' to learn options to save the entire park! KEEP up the public comments! (here's a link to get letters to more folks: https://actionnetwork.org/letters/urgent-rdu-hands-off-lake-crabtree-county-park
It will be also very important to attend this May 31 event - Press coverage to show the public support for Lake Crabtree County Park!
RDU is closing the trails at the long-established Lake Crabtree Park - let's work to KEEP THEM OPEN! RDU plans to build a entertainment/office complex. While, the picnic and boating area will remain, the trails we all love are gone forever. Sad. (RDU does not own the land. The land is deeded to the public, but managed by RDU. Sadly, those in power do not feel this Park is important enough to keep.)
To say good-bye (and plea to keep) and to show how much the trails at the Park mean to us, please come out to enjoy one last bike, run, or hike.
More details will be posted soon, but wanted to get the date on everyone's calendar. Don't miss this one!
Invitation is open to mountain bikers, trail runners, hikers, ALL trail lovers.
Please help spread the word. Let's pack the trails.
Updates at: https://torc-nc.org
