Umstead Ruins and Wilderness Hike

I hope you can join us for this fun opportunity, which will be led by Umstead expert Pete Vanderberg. On this hike, we'll do many of the sites from Rod Broadbelt's Umstead Coalition ruins hikes. Plan for about a 4-hr hike with total distance well under 10 miles. Sites to visit will include the area around the Company Mill site, scout camp, and sites along Old Reedy Creek Road, including the CCC Camp. Much of the hike will be off-trail, so wear sturdy shoes and be prepared for climbing and traversing through brush. Bring water and snacks.

We plan to start promptly at 8am, and so please arrive by 7:45/50am. Park gates should open at 7am, and I (Ben) plan to get by 7:35/40 for sign-in.
