Hike at Umstead State Park's Yellow Dot Trail along Odd Fellows Tract and Quarry
Details
Join us for a hike at the Odd Fellows Tract at Umstead Park to learn about the ongoing fight to protect Umstead against Wake Stone Quarry.
Park on the road shoulders or at the nearby "286 tract parking along the road."
We'll hike within the Park along the wall that the quarry built. Hiking boots are recommended as there may be times when we'll be off trail. Hiking poles may also be useful. This is an out and back hike and will stay on State Park property. This hike goes rain or shine. The total distance is approximately two miles.
After the hike, at 5:00pm we'll head over to RallyPoint Sport Grill (837 Bass Pro Ln, Cary, NC 27513) where a community leader is giving a presentation about the impact of bad regulatory and court rulings on Umstead Park.
The hike will be led by Hwa and sponsored by the
Triangle DSA Ecosocialism Association
