SDG #17, partnerships and collaboration to meet our local and global needs. Featured this month is Sharon B. Ellis from Habitat for Humanity of Orange County.
Sharon B. Ellis, President/CEO
Habitat for Humanity of Orange County
SDG#1 - NO POVERTY
Sharon Ellis is directing the activities of a dynamic staff, and thousands of volunteers, to help limited-income families build and purchase simple, decent affordable homes in Orange County. They assist with a quickly expanding home repair program. She is also responsible for the two Habitat ReStore operations located in Anaheim and Santa Ana.
As an educator and an administrator for over 20 years, she saw firsthand the positive effect that a stable home had on a family—and the negative effect of frequent moves and unstable homes had on children.
Chair of Habitat for Humanity California representing 42 affiliates, Board of Trustees - 501(C) Agencies Trust; a Board member - Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce, and a Coach - Fieldstone Leadership Network, she is a past president of the Southern California (Habitat for Humanity) Affiliates Association (SCAA) and a member of the U.S. Council Advocacy Committee for Habitat for Humanity International.
