What do we mean when we talk about AAPI Hate? What can I do if I am on the receiving end? What can I do to support someone when they’ve experienced an act of hate?
AAPI community and their allies are invited to explore these and more questions in our panel and workshop event featuring activists, anti-racism facilitators, and community organizers.

Pick a topic for your mini-workshop experience. Don’t worry, you’ll get an event resource page with all the links and info from both workshops so you won’t miss a thing.
Workshop/ Breakout Room 1 - Activism & Advocacy: Sign petitions, email and call your elected officials, donate, join your local activist and advocacy groups, and share your actions with folks in your network as dedicated as you.
Workshop/ Breakout Room 2 - Intervention & Trauma First Aid: Learn what to do if you’re experiencing a form of violence, how to intervene if you see one happening, and what to do with the trauma aftermath.
Stop AAPI Hate & Activate is co-organized and co-developed by the Unconscious Bias Project in partnership with Viv Tran, host of the What Gives? podcast.

Accessibility:

About our Panelists:
Rohan Zhou-Lee (they/Siya/Tā): Zhou-Lee is the founder of the Blasian March, a solidarity movement for Black, Asian and Blasian communities through education on parallel struggles with racial injustice and mutual celebration.
Dr. Liza Talusan (she/her): Dr. Talusan is an educator, strategic change partner, leader, writer, leadership coach and parent. With over 25 years of experience in PreK-20 education, strategic leadership, and organizational change, Liza is an engaging facilitator in conversations about diversity, anti-racism, bias, privilege and power and creates environments that allow for people to build skills for difficult conversations.
About our Moderator:
Viv Tran (she/her): Viv is the podcast host for What Gives?, a Chicago-based organizer, and emerging leader in the Philanthropy space. With a decade of experience working in the non-profit space, in mainly AAPI and migrant focused organizations in the Midwest, Viv has dedicated her career to strengthening diverse communities through education, civic investment and storytelling.
About our workshop facilitators:
Dr. Linet Mera (she/her): is a change maker, scientist, and artist from Colombia. She weaves her creativity and multicultural background into her 10 years of developing and implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. She does this by assessing community needs, leveraging existing resources, and cultivating collaborations within and between organizations to sustain long-lasting impact. She is co-founder and co-Executive Director of the Unconscious Bias Project.
