Size Matters, Rust for Non-Rustaceans, and A Tale of Three Searches

Details
We said we'd be back and we are! Be quick and grab your free ticket if you want to join us for the second Unified Diff of 2024. We're back at Little O'Neills (aka The Old Market Tavern) for an evening of tech talks and social chatter.
Talks:
"Size Matters: The case for making your website as small as possible" by Niall Curtis
I make a case for tiny payload sized websites and how you can convey information without breaking the bank/the environment/your users' internet.
"Rust for Non-Rustaceans" by Christopher Beale
"An overview of the Rust programing language for the Rust curious. Covering paradigms, principles and what sets it apart in a crowded market of new languages, and why you might just consider it for your next project."
A Tale of Three Searches by Rod Pugh
"An outline of how search has been implemented and updated in a B2B application over the course of a decade. Using three different search engines, and looking at the various pros and cons that led to their use."
Agenda:
18:00: Official start time — feel free to turn up beforehand. We'll be setting up in the room upstairs.
18:20: Talks begin.
20:00 Official end — feel free to stay around and socialise.
If you're interested in speaking at this or a future event, please get in touch via the comments or grab one of us in person.
Unified Diff is brought to you by Bipsync. We thank the wonderful Unify Talent for their kind sponsorship of this event.
