Dr. Kenneth Enwerem is a medical doctor and epidemiologist with over ten years of experience in global health security, infectious disease surveillance, and data-driven public health interventions. As the Senior Surveillance and Global Health Security Officer at the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN), he leads efforts in pandemic preparedness, disease monitoring, and outbreak response, integrating field epidemiology with advanced data analytics, including geospatial mapping, R programming, and disease modeling. He has worked on key projects like the Acute Febrile Illness Surveillance Project (AFIS) and Vaccine Coverage Mapping Pilot with the NCDC and international partners, and his experience with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) strengthened his expertise in emergency response and operational research in resource-limited settings. A certified R programming trainer with Applied Epi, he contributes to global epidemiology training. Holding an MPH from the Royal Tropical Institute (Netherlands) and pursuing a Fellowship in Infectious Disease Modeling, Dr. Enwerem is an Epiverse Fellow dedicated to using open-source tools for equitable health solutions, supported by his peer-reviewed research on SARS-CoV-2, sickle cell disease, and cost-effective healthcare interventions.
