An Agent is a long-running stateless service that can be used to execute tasks. It reduces the overhead of creating a pod for each task. In addition, it’s easy to scale up and down the agent service based on the workload.

Agent services are designed to be language-agnostic. In the session, we will shine on custom Agent development. We’ll guide you through the process of creating your own Agent, empowering you to run tasks effortlessly.

Learning Objectives

  • Gain a clear understanding of what the Flyte Agent Service is, its role within the Flyte ecosystem, and how it fits into the broader context of workflow automation.
  • Understand the key benefits of using the Agent Service, including reduced complexity, easier plugin development, and efficient scaling.

Agenda

  • Introduction to Flyte Agent
  • Deep dive into the Agent Service
  • Creating a Custom Agent & Sensor
  • Agent deployment
  • Case Studies
  • Q&A and Discussion
