Ecola State Park to Indian Beach Hike + Lunch (Optional)

**NOTE**
It's going to be hot in Portland this Saturday, but the temperature will only be in the 70s at the coast. So, come out and cool off!

With that said...

When people think of the Oregon Coast, the vision in their heads looks a lot like the view from Ecola State Park. Large rock formations, a crescent-shaped beach, waves crashing into the shore, a soft blanket of translucent fog lingering in the air, and rolling mountains rising above a shoreline. It's the quintessential Oregon Coast view. Words don't do it justice. It's just as stunning the twentieth time as it was the first time you saw it.

On the way to Indian Beach, a trail partially parallels the shoreline before ducking deeper into a lush, old-growth forest. Beautiful views of the coastline and the Tillamook Lighthouse can be seen as you make you way along an undulating coastal trail.

When you re-emerge from the forest, more rock formations and surfers come into view, as does a vast, rippling ocean.

Walk out onto Indian Beach and bask in the golden rays of late morning sun before returning along a familiar, charming trail.

After our walk along the ocean, we'll grab a bite to eat. Lunch is optional. However, if you're carpooling with a driver who wants to go for lunch, you may have to hang out while we eat.

**WHERE TO MEET**
We'll meet at the SW corner on the ground floor of the Sunset Transit Center parking garage at 8am and carpool from there. Click on the Google Map below for the exact location. Carpool arrangements can be made at the parking garage. Passengers, please pay your driver $12 for gas costs. You can also meet us at the trailhead at 9:35am. Parking costs $10 per car for Oregon residents; $12 per car for non-Oregon residents. Everyone in the car will need to chip in for this cost.
