Buddha Day Celebration

Details
Many Buddhists will be observing the Wesak Festival (aka Buddha Day) around the May full moon. Wesak celebrates the birth, enlightenment, and death of Gautama Buddha. We will join them, right after the service on Sunday May 11, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm, with an informal Buddha blessing/washing ceremony.
The Buddha reminds us that true peace comes when we transform our own anger into compassion, and purify our body, speech and mind. We will have cloth 'prayer flags' available on which to write your own intentions and ofer them for release on the elements at the Buddha statue on our Serenity Trail. Come bring your prayers, hopes and dreams! Also, feel free to bring your own home Buddhas or other items for the altar, for washing and praying-up!! We'll provide pens, flags, and music. Comfortable footwear encouraged. Led by Mark Smith & Katja Sage.
