- Women's Group – A Space to Share and Have FunUnity of Walnut Creek, Walnut Creek, CA$31.00
Women, this is for you!
One afternoon a month, make space in your busy life to settle in with other women for 90 minutes of sharing, reflecting, and just plain enjoying each others' company.
Every third Wednesday, from 1:30 to 3:00, give yourself the opportunity to deepen your spiritual journey, learn new ways of tuning into intuition, share your unique gifts with others, and make new friends.
Your host, Unity member Barbara Gordon, describes the format:
- Opening: A prayer or meditation to center ourselves and foster a sense of peace and connection.
- Check-in & Intentions: We’ll share the group’s purpose and do a brief check-in.
- Topic Presentation: A member will volunteer to introduce a topic (voluntary participation). This is an opportunity to share your gift with the group.
- Small Group Discussion: We’ll break into pairs to reflect on 1-2 questions related to the topic.
- Group Reflection: Reconvene as a group for a short discussion, followed by a closing prayer or meditation.
- Prayer Partners: For additional support, each member will be paired with a prayer partner, offering encouragement and prayerful support between meetings.
This gathering is a safe and supportive place to explore your spirituality, learn, and grow together. We look forward to seeing you there!
The group will meet in the Unity Sanctuary. There is a fee of $27, payable at the door.

- Grief, Grace, and Gratitude – A Monthly Support GroupUnity of Walnut Creek, Walnut Creek, CA$25.00
This is a safe and compassionate group space for individuals experiencing the profound sorrow that comes with the loss of a loved one.
In recognizing that grief does not have a timeline, this group is dedicated to offering support, understanding, and a sense of community and connection to long-term grievers and those who are newly bereaved.
We gather to support one another through deep listening, meaningful witnessing of one another, and facilitated conversation.
We cultivate a compassionate community where individuals share their grief stories, witness each other’s pain, and offer comfort and companionship on the healing journey.
Participants have opportunities to explore and deepen their spiritual connections, integrating personal spiritual perspectives into their healing process.
By supporting one another, we enhance our own awareness and wisdom, and foster greater understanding both within and beyond the group.
Benefits for Participants:
• Experience a Safe Environment: Share your story and express your feelings freely, knowing you will be met with understanding and non-judgmental, compassionate support.
• Build Connections: Establish meaningful connections with others to reduce the isolation that often accompanies grief.
• Gain Insight: Understand common myths about grief and typical grief patterns through shared experiences and discussions.
• Explore Grieving Tools: Gain tools and experience opportunities to navigate the complexities of grief, fostering a sense of hope and forward momentum.
• Develop Coping Skills: Learn new coping skills, relaxation techniques, stress management, and daily survival skills that others have found effective. Helping each other brings strength, confidence, and a renewed sense of purpose and meaning.
The group meets the third Wednesday of each month from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Unity Sanctuary. The fee is $25 (with a sliding scale, so no one is turned away for lack of funds). Please pay at the door with cash or check.

- Labyrinth Move and MeditateUnity of Walnut Creek, Walnut Creek, CA
Take time once a month to join yogi and vocalist Annika Ananda for a sacred evening of movement, sound, and stillness.
Each ceremony begins with tension-releasing gentle movements adaptable for all physical abilities. This is followed by a restorative meditation with Sanskrit chanting and Solfeggio sound healing.
Please bring a yoga mat, or if you prefer, we can provide a chair.
The event will flow between the community room, the lawn, and a silent walking meditation – a symbolic journey inward – through Unity’s Chartres-style Labyrinth.
The conclusion of the evening will be centered in circle with a Dharma talk and Seva (sacred service) connection led by our young adult sisters and brothers.
This practice supports self-discovery, deep connection, and renewed compassion – relieving stress and awakening wholeness through shared sacred experience.
Each month explores a different theme inspired by the ancient symbol of "Three" that appears across cultures. Examples are the Triquetra: a representation of the Triple Goddess and Unity, and the Trishula: Hindu and Buddhist symbol of creation, maintenance and destruction. All stem from the ancient Vedic “Om,” which represents layers of consciousness and sacred sound.
Labyrinth Move and Meditate is offered on a freewill donation basis ($33 suggested).
Annika Ananda is a yoga practitioner, musician and artist offering sacred movement ceremonies in the San Francisco Bay Area and Colorado. With over 20 years of experience offering Dharma Yoga, Annika combines Sanskrit Chanting and Solfeggio Sound Healing for a deep return to the soul during meditation.
